This fall harvest-inspired Foxfire Mountain House wedding was featured on Wedding Chicks showcasing the beauty of being nestled within the Catskill Mountains and the vision that Lauren and Phil created for their friends and family to celebrate their upstate wedding weekend.
While it did rain for most of their wedding day, they transitioned into the beautiful veranda for a covered ceremony which ended up creating this intimate string-lit moment. Lauren surprised Phil with a “just-married” decorated Bentley for photos. They included Phil’s love for hockey by having a net, pucks and sticks for guests to try their best shot at making a hockey goal, and a great playlist from their DJ that had everyone on the dancefloor. Their dog made appearances throughout the day with the cutest bowtie that coordinated with the wedding party attire. These two know how to throw a party and I loved being able to document it!
Wedding Chicks interviewed Lauren and Phil about their wedding day, planning, inspiration, and advice for other couples- here’s an excerpt:
“Professional chef power couple Phil and Lauren were married at Foxfire Mountain House in the Catskill Mountains in New York on October 16, 2021. Lauren grew up in Southern California. Phil is Canadian, from Edmonton, AB. They both moved to NYC to follow their dreams of becoming professional chefs and after working in restaurants for a combined 22 years, they both became private chefs. They now live in Brooklyn, NY with their 4 year old Doberman, Macallan. They wanted their wedding to feel like them – to have their personalities shine through the design and all of the little touches – especially because it was going to be the first time since the pandemic that they had seen so many loved ones. The goal was for it to feel like a celebration of love, friendship and life, and it absolutely did.”
1. Listen to yourself and listen to your partner.
2. Trust your instincts- there might be pressure to please other people, but at the end of the day, it’s about you two as a couple.
3. The day is a celebration of your love and the life you’ll share. Try to not forget that, and enjoy the process!
