The Bykenhulle House is one of my favorite venues in the Hudson Valley area. They offer smaller weddings of 80 or less and intimate elopements or micro weddings. I designed a styled shoot there when I first started my business and luckily Jessica, found the images. When she reached out I was so excited to hear that her and Michael decided to have a micro wedding at Bykenhulle with their immediate family with a total of 14 people.
They had the sweetest ceremony under the gazebo with draped florals and greenery. Then they had a small cocktail hour where they played corn hole and had amazing appetizers by the one and only Lola’s Cafe. I loved witnessing Jessica and Michael spend time with their families, sharing stories and enjoying all of their guests during this piece of their day. They were able to relax and take the day at their pace which I find to be one of the best parts of having an intimate wedding. Once they were ready, we transitioned into the dancing section of their day where their family members showered them with florals as they started their first dance. I loved that they chose the outdoor patio of Bykehulle for their first dance and parent dances instead of bringing it into the ballroom. They then headed into the ballroom for the sweetest maid of honor and best man speech and dinner. We finished the night with a ribbon send off and some fun props.
I love the intimate feeling micro weddings and elopements have and I think that my couples would agree that you can still have all of the details that you’ve always imagined while also being able to spend time with each and every one of your guests in such a personal way that you’ll always cherish.
